Security Service Malta Ltd, registered address: 9 Triq in-Narcis, San Gwann, C - 20791, forms part of Security Service S.r.l., ( http://www.security-service.it/ ), a leading Italian group of companies established in 1980. In 1996 Security Service Malta Ltd was set up and took over the local operations of Securicor Malta Ltd, which had been operating successfully in Malta since 1992 from a purposely-built security Head Quarters, complete with vaulting and cash counting hall facilities and manned 24/7, in San Gwann. Whilst Security Service Malta Ltd employs over 250 personnel, mainly full timers, the number of employees of the whole group of companies, with branches in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin and Malta, now exceeds 2000.

With around 20 years of experience in the security industry, our Management team is proactive. Our management team has undergone intensive training at our parent company in Rome, in order to ensure that the services carried out are of the highest standards, the best quality, and tailor-made to suit the individual customer's requirements.

We are involved in creating business solutions for our local client portfolio, which range from private residences to large corporations, including quoted companies. We operate in the security services industry and our services range from static guarding, transportation of valuables of any kind & ATM management, monitoring of surveillance hardware like CCTV and/or Alarm systems with prompt on-site response, to even transporting surgical equipment between private hospitals during operations. Other ancillary services are offered to present a one-stop shop with a complete solution for any security requirements that may be requested from us.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

Security Service Malta Ltd is made up of a strong and experienced management team that works together practically since the inception of the business around 20 years ago. The team has been a major contributing factor in the success of the day-to-day security operations of many of our clients.

Bernard Vella - DIRECTOR HEAD OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Mr. Vella holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Management and Banking & Finance as the major areas of study from the University of Malta. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK and also a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA).

 

He is fluent in Maltese, English and Italian, with basic knowledge in French.

 

Mr. Vella joined Security Service Malta Ltd during 1997 and was responsible for the development of financial strategies in line with the business objectives and in conformity with industry standards. Bernard has been extensively involved in the setting up and automation of the accounts department of the company and was instrumental in implementing new software for the payroll and the accounting system. Furthermore, he contributed heavily towards the setting up and development of the internal intranet database system. He is specialized in labour law and over the years gained extensive experience in the legislation regulating the security industry. He reports directly to the parent company in Rome, Security Service Srl. His wealth of experience contributes towards the development and implementation of Security Service Malta Ltd’s vision.

Joseph Psaila – Director / Head of Operations

Mr. Psaila joined Securicor Malta Ltd in 1995. During 1996, when Security Service Malta Ltd took over the local operations of Securicor Malta Ltd, he continued to contribute his services in the Operations Department.  With over 20 years experience in the security industry, support services and HR, Joseph is responsible for managing the entire operations team and ensures that both HR and operational aspects are aligned to deliver the company objectives.

 

Passionate about procedures and service quality, Joseph is well known for his personality and as an innovator, who is always focused on delivering quality services with integrity and pride.

Charles Micallef - Assistant Manager

With the company since 1998

 

Mr. Micallef joined our company as a security officer. He got promoted through the various ranks in relatively short periods of time and nowadays he provides a strong assistance at managerial level. He monitors processes and streamlines operations to ensure that the effectiveness of controls and procedures that are in place, are effectively enforced. He ensures that there is harmony between the various supervisors and senior officers, vital for a strong and efficient team.
